DESCRIPTION:
WW - Rolex Oyster retailed by Dobbies LTD of Nairobi, circa 1926, manual wind, 35mm x 37mm to lug tips, 16mm wire lug width, original sterling silver screw back Oyster case, engraved presentation on caseback is worn but reads "T.J. Kenny" with a date below that is almost impossible to read, the last two digits appear to be 26, black leather strap, original white enamel dial with black numerals, 15J, s#6471, triple signed. A tremendously early Oyster; one can't even image Rolex producing a watch in silver today.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, hardly any oxide to steelwork, light fine scratches on plates; nearly flawless dial with one small hairline; excellent blued steel hands that have aged purple; polished case shows ample wear, all four wire lugs have been repaired with solder at some point in this watch's life, several light dings on back; period correct Oyster signed crown shows hardly any wear, good threads; good plastic crystal.
